General Description of Acrylics

Prism Powder Coatings A-series Acrylic powders are designed for a range of both decorative and functional use. These thermo set acrylic powders offer excellent chemical resistance with outstanding over bake resistance. They can be manufactured in a wide range of colours and glosses.

The A-series powders perform well over chemically pretreated cold rolled steel and aluminum substrates, as well as over glass. They may be applied by corona charged electrostatic powder guns. It is possible to achieve film builds of 1-1.5 mils, but 2-3 mils is the norm.
As always, we recommend you consult your Prism Powder Coatings representative and perform your own physical testing to determine the suitability of a product for your requirements. See the health, safety and storage guide for further information.
Typical Uses for Acrylic
Some applications suitable for A-series powders, Chemical & stain resistant finishes, Glass bottle decorations and appliances, and clear coats over aluminum and basecoats.
Limitations
In General most acrylics are not compatible with other powder finishes (watch out for craters!), while their impact resistance typically lower than for other powder types. Thorough clean-up of the system is mandatory to switch back to other powders.
